Itanagar, Aug 20: Dera Natung Govt. College (DNGC), Itanagar in collaboration with RGU Research Project Team led by Prof. Tadu Rimi, organised an orientation-cum-consultative meeting on suicide risk reduction and improving mental well-being among school and college students, on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. M.Q. Khan, DNGC Principal, advised that proper education on suicide prevention and mental well-being is imperative for society. “Proper knowledge and awareness on the topic should be imparted towards the people especially to the target group i.e. teenage students, with more focus on girl students who are more vulnerable towards the darkness of suicidal risk, depression, etc.,” he said.
The event saw active participation of around 30 members including faculties, members of RGU Research Team and students. The overall event was coordinated by Botem Moyong, Assistant Professor mathematics who is also a Programme Officer of NSS Unit DNGC.
