YINGKIONG, Oct 8: Power supply has been disrupted in entire Upper Siang including the district headquarters Yingkiong  due to a technical problem  at  the Angong Nallah, Janbo and Sirnyuk  Hydel, Jengging, affecting normal life.
On October 3 last, the Executive Engineer, Yingkiong Electrical Division  had issued a circular that due to heavy line damage of Angong to Yingkiong 33KV line by Highway construction companies there will be no power supply from Angong Micro Hydel Scheme (MHS) for 10 days and power supply to Yingkiong township and its adjacent villages shall be fed from Sirnyuk Micro Hydel on the basis of hourly load shedding schedule with effect from October 4.
However, within a day after its operation, Sirnyuk Hydel also developed technical snag and power supply was completely affected in Yingkiong township, Mariyang and   surrounding villages. Besides, even Yingkiong hydel phase ll is not in operation.
Meanwhile, despite incessant rainfall, the Power Department Yingkiong is putting  all effort to restore the faulty and damaged transmission line for early restoration of power supply. DIPRO
