ITANAGAR, July 11: The Chimpu Police Station (PS), ICR, has launched an innovative community outreach program named संवाद" aimed at fostering cooperation and mutual respect between the police force and the community. The initiative focuses on sharing information about safety measures, promoting accountability within the police force, addressing local issues collaboratively, guiding and mentoring young people, improving communication with diverse communities, and raising awareness about new criminal laws, cybercrime, and police roles.
As part of this initiative, on Thursday, the Chimpu PS Team conducted a mass joint foot patrol in collaboration with Ward Members, the Chimpu-Gohpur Market Welfare Committee, the Chimpu Youth Organization, and local residents. The patrol commenced at the Burial Ground, Chimpu, and concluded at Ganga Basti. Following the patrol, an awareness program was held to educate the public on new criminal laws, cyber awareness, and to facilitate public interaction.
The Itanagar Police is committed to enhancing policing and fostering a positive police-public relationship. Over the past week, various programs encouraging mass participation from local residents have been initiated under the jurisdictions of Itanagar PS, Niti Vihar PS, and Chimpu PS. These programs have been led by the respective Officers-in-Charge (OCs): Inspector Khiksi Yangfo, Inspector Takhe Tasso, Inspector Neeraj Nishant, and SDPO Itanagar DySP Kengo Dirchi, under the supervision of Itanagar SP Shri Rohit Rajbir Singh, IPS, stated a release.
