ITANAGAR, Nov 25: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) has extended warm greetings to the people on the special occasion of Constitution Day, which commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India. He expressed hope that the occasion will further strengthen our resolve to preserve, protect and defend our Constitution.
In his message, the Governor said that the Constitution of India is based on its foundational principles of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. It reflects a commitment to building a just and inclusive society and encourages citizens to contribute to the overall well-being of the nation, fostering a sense of responsibility and civic duty. I call upon all to recall with gratitude the contributions of our great Freedom Fighters, particularly Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who played pivotal roles in the framing and adoption of the Constitution. Dr. Rajendra Prasad's leadership as the President of the Constituent Assembly and later as the First President of India provided a steady guiding hand during the formative years of the nation. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, as the head of the Drafting Committee, made significant contributions to shaping the constitutional framework, ensuring it reflected the values of justice and equality, he said.
On this momentous occasion, I appeal to my fellow citizens of Arunachal Pradesh to uphold the sanctity of the Indian Constitution particularly the Fundamental Duties as enshrined in it. Let us devote ourselves to the development, progress and prosperity of the society, State and Nation in the true spirit of our Constitution, the Governor said in his message.
