ITANAGAR, Sep 30:  The Parents Joint Committee against ‘Null & Void’ (PJCNV), on Saturday, organized a mass peaceful sit-in protest at IG Park urging the state government to rollback its decision to  declare the APPSC examinations as ‘Null & Void’.
The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) spearheading the APPSC Cash-for-Job fiasco has been demanding that exams conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission from 2014 till date should be declared 'Null & Void' or nullified.
The Parents Joint Committee against Null & Void, has termed the demand as "mass murder and illogical."
Speaking to reporters, PJCNV General Secretary Ajay Matam said that the demand by the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) for nullifying the APPSC examination is impossible. The PAJSC is simply wasting the time of new aspiring candidates and leading them nowhere, he said.
Ajay said that the demand for nullifying the entire examination conducted by the APPSC from 2014 to 2022 is meant to mislead the aspirants and create a situation akin to an open graveyard in the state. Therefore, the PAJSC should refrain from making such demands.
"We support all the demands of the PAJSC except for nullifying the exam. The PAJSC should not waste the valuable time of aspiring candidates and instead allow for a fair investigation to proceed," he said.
He further stated that the PJCNV demands the state government to ensure equal justice to protect the meritorious candidates, conduct a free and fair investigation, and include a committee member for any discussions regarding the null & void demand.
Additionally, they requested an investigation into all the doubtful exams conducted by the APPSC since 1992.
"The only solution to this issue is to approach the court and initiate an in-depth investigation by the CBI. The investigating agency is capable of handling such cases, so let the premier investigating agency continue the investigation process," he said.
He also emphasized that the decision of "null & void" is not only unjust to all genuine candidates but will also adversely affect their families, who have invested years in their children's education. Moreover, the entire candidate pool cannot be punished for someone's fault.
Following the APPSC cash-for-job scam, the PAJSC has been demanding the nullification of exams conducted by the commission from 2014 to 2022. However, the PJCNV has opposed this demand from day one and instead supported a CBI investigation.
Few days back, Chief Minister Pema Khandu stated that the state government has already fulfilled the 13-point demands of the PAJSC, and the matter is also in public domain.
