NAHARLAGUN, May 17: Internationally famous bodybuilder Paklu Taipodia would be hosting two-day Paklu Taipodia Classic National Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship at community hall of Art & culture director here from August 24. 
Arunachal Pradesh would be hosting this national championship for the first time with the patronage of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, lawmakers Techi Kaso (Itanagar), Techi Rotu (Sagalee), Mama Natung (Seppa West) besides union minister Kiren Rijiju and MP Tapir Gao besides many others.
Few hundred athletes from across the country are expected to take part in the open event, which would be organized by Kailasha Fitness Company MD Abhisek Kaushal of Himachal Pradesh.
Taipodia had launched classic T-shirt in Mr. India Body Building Championship, India’s biggest body building event, at Chandigarh on March 17 last to be used in this national championship, which offers cash award and other prizes worth above Rs 20 lakh.
As this Himalayan state is known for global sports medal holders in karate, weightlifting, taekwondo while arms wrestler Pakjar Tapipodia was first to fly Arunachal flag in global filed, the event would serve as a platform to promote this state with Arunachal Observer (print) and Arunachal News Live (electronic) as media partners, Paklu said. 
The championship events would include 17 categories under 1) Senior and Junior Men’s Bodybuilding, 2) Open Women’s Sports Model, 3) Men’s Fitness & Classic Model and 4) Deadlifting (Powerlifting), while for Arunachalee athletes the open events are: Mr Arunachal, Mr Hornbill and Mr Papum Pare.
Large number of athletes from the host state is expected to showcase their ability while vying for honours, she said, adding all winners would be awarded  while sponsors and partners felicitated by the invited dignitaries during the valedictory function at the venue on August 25 evening. 
It would be worth mentioning here that Paklu, known for her “Never say die” spirit as an international professional card holder, is one of the highest medal winners of India. 
She has won 36 medals so far, including World Global Women Achiever Leadership Award (17.02.24), Miss Asia Overall Winner in games and sports, including gold medal in Ms Asia Glutetan model, silver medal Ms Asia Bikini model and bronze medal in Miss Asia Sports model to be adjudged Miss Asia Overall winner in International Pro-Card in Fitness International Federation competition at Selangor in Malaysiya (26.11.23) and Brand Leadership Award (Woman Leadership Award)-2020 by World Marketing Congress at Guwahati to win laurels for India, Olympia Achiever Award (24.01.24) at New Delhi, Woman Bodybuilder Award-2023 by Sikkim CM, Bodybuilder Talent Award-2017 by Arunachal Got Talent and Arunachal Govt Gold Medal-2017, to name a few.
