ITANAGAR, Dec 4: Reacting  to the state government action taken report on the 12-point charter of demands of the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC), the committee categorically termed it as "incomplete, an eye wash and also claimed it as making a mockery of the seriousness of the issue."
Addressing the media at the press club on Monday, PAJSC Vice Chairman, Tadak Nalo said that the action taken report issued by the state government is undermining the sentiments of the public, who came a long way to ensure a better future for their children. The action taken report as claimed by the state government is more of an excuse to delay the matter, he asserted.
The PAJSC said it is not satisfied with the action taken report issued by the state government. Hence, the committee has submitted a letter to the Chief Minister Pema Khandu responding to the action taken report. Wherein, the committee has presented an overview and response for the immediate fulfilment of the demands.
“The comprehensive overview of the status report issued by the state government on the long pending burning issue of APPSC cash-for-job scam deserves immediate attention and intervention of the CM,” he said, adding that the action taken by the state government is well taken, however, there is need for the inclusion and acceptance of the suggestions made by the committee.
To bring the matter to final conclusion,  Nalo has appealed to the CM to hold a meeting with the PAJSC members on December 12.
He said, demands for bringing APPSC Chairman, Secretary, members and the officials under the purview of investigation, construction of a statue of honesty honoring Gyamar Padang, revocation of the suspension order against PAJSC Chairman Techi Puru, reward to the kith & kins of Gyamar Padang, implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2023, withdrawal of all charges against protesters and compensation for those injured during the public bandh on February 17-18 is yet to be implemented as well as executed.
“Therefore, the committee seeks a round table discussion with the CM. This is required because the written report issued by the state government last February and the latest action taken report contradicts. Moreover, the Chief Secretary has a clear say that he is not the competent authority to make decisions in the matter,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mudang Yabyang, a differently abled person (PwD) candidate, said that the action taken report issued by the state government, specifically to her issue, doesn't need written assurance, rather, it needs execution. She said the response of ‘reformation’ notification issued by the state government to the APPSC is nothing new as it already existed since 2019.
She further added that it is clearly mentioned by the department of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs (SJETA) that 5% relaxation is approved for the PWD candidates in any examination. So, why is the APPSC bending the prescribed rule disregarding the letter issued by the SJETA department?
“Now, the state government in its action taken report, claims that I am not qualified despite the 5% relaxation. Whereas, the RTI report acquired by me from the SJETA department clearly states that I am qualified for the post of lecturer (Electrical Engineering), Polytechnic college,” she added.
Earlier, on Sunday, the state government, following the mass protest rally organised by the PAJSC issued an action taken report on the 12- point charter of demands.
