During the ongoing Budget Session, MLA Nyapin Tai Nikio raised the query to the Minister of Public Works Department, asking whether the government was considering repealing or amending the Act. In response, the minister firmly stated, "The government has no proposal under consideration to repeal the Act."
Further, when asked about the timeline for the repeal if such a move was planned, the minister dismissed the question, stating that it "doesn’t arise" since no proposal is under review.
