ITANAGAR, Jul 1: A group of parents, under the banner of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – 2024 examination qualified parents group of Arunachal Pradesh has appealed to the state government to urge the Government of India to exempt the state from the re-conduct of the NEET examination.
Parents representative Jikke Tania while addressing a press conference at the press club on Monday, stated that the NEET exam for undergraduate students, conducted on May 5, was carried out in a free and fair manner in Arunachal Pradesh. He argued that holding the exam again would be unjust to the students who have already passed. Out of the 4,998 students who appeared, 2,570 successfully qualified, with no instances of grace mark irregularities or paper leaks. Tania stressed that innocent students should not be penalized for issues that were not their fault.
The group also welcomed the CBI investigation in states where irregularities were discovered and informed that they have already submitted their concerns to the Governor, Chief Minister, and Education Minister, seeking further action.
