NAMSAI, Aug 1: An awareness program for health camp was held at the Alubari Community Hall, focusing on the Sampornata Abhiyan campaign.
The event aimed to educate and engage the Gram Panchayat Chairpersons (GPCs), Gram Panchayat Members (GPMs) from Alubari and Napotia villages about the importance of creating a "Swasth Panchayat" (Healthy Panchayat) and the significance of a collaborative effort of PRI, health and ICDS for saturating 100% screening of hypertension and diabetes in respective areas and achieving a healthy community.
In the programme, the HWO and ANM addressed the challenges faced in previous screening sessions, where low attendance hindered achieving full coverage. They stressed the need for increased community participation and awareness to ensure comprehensive screening.
The Piramal team Namsai district shared insights on their collaborative efforts with the ICDS department, which has led to significant progress. They emphasized the importance of continued cooperation among the health department, ICDS workers, and Panchayat members to meet the objectives of the Sampornata Abhiyan.
Gandhi Fellows contributed to the discussion by highlighting the condition of primary schools in the area and the potential role of Panchayat members in supporting educational improvements.
A total of 36 individuals attended the programme, including 2 GPCs, 8 GPMs, 6 ASHA workers and 10 Anganwadi helpers and workers.
The participants shared their perspectives and discussed various challenges faced within their respective Gram Panchayats. The program concluded with a call of action, encouraging all stakeholders to work collaboratively towards making their Panchayat a Swasth Panchayat.
