NAHARLAGUN, Mar 13: In a major breakthrough, Naharlagun Police recovered three stolen two-wheelers from different locations in Itanagar, Seppa, and Assam following the arrest of burglars involved in vehicle theft.
The recovery operation was carried out by a team led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naharlagun Police Station, Inspector K. Dev, along with SI V. Linggi, HC Kato Samyor, HC Punyo Tari, Ct. Debojit Borah, and Ct. Saanu Raj. The operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Naharlagun, Rishi Longdo, and overall guidance of SP Naharlagun, Mihin Gambo.
One stolen Scooty was recovered from Bedeti, under Behali Police Station in Biswanath Chariali, Assam. Another was retrieved from Seppa with coordination from Seppa Police, while the third was recovered from Itanagar following the arrest of co-accused Rajiv Munda, alias Ambrus Munda (30), in Itanagar.
The case gained momentum after the earlier arrest of accused Taku Tayu, who disclosed the involvement of Ambrus Munda in the thefts. Based on this information, Munda was traced and apprehended in Itanagar, leading to further recoveries. In addition to the stolen Scooties, police also recovered a valuable stolen camera from Munda’s possession, which had been stolen last week by Taku Tayu from A-Sector, Naharlagun.
The investigation is ongoing, with efforts underway to recover more stolen Scooties and identify their rightful owners for proper handover,stated a release.
