ITANAGAR, Oct 28: Member of Lok Sabha – East Arunachal, Tapir Gao, appealed to the youths to refrain from drugs and other anti-social activities while attending the inaugural event of the 16th Naba Ita Pulu Memorial Cup -Football Tournament held in Roing on Saturday.
Gao, while addressing the gathering, also assured that he would provide all the necessary support for the development of a proper stadium in Roing. "Our youths are full of talent in every field, and it is the need of the hour to focus on our goals and shape them with proper guidance and infrastructure facilities. So, it will be my main effort to provide all the support required for the creation of a stadium to encourage the youth," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Roing and Chief Patron of the tournament, Mutchu Mithi, also reiterated and sought support from MP Tapir Gao to extend possible support for the creation of a proper stadium in Roing. He also urged the players to maintain sportsmanship spirit and discipline throughout the tournament.
The President-Organizing Committee of the 16th NIPMC, Acho Pulu, informed that at least 24 teams are participating in the tournament which includes girls teams. He also added that the tournament will be played both during the day and at night with proper lighting facilities.
Among others, Kanggong Taku, MLA Mariyang-Geku, also spoke on the occasion.
