PASIGHAT, Sep 12: Union MoS for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan exuded that people of Arunachal Pradesh has always held a special place for him and joining in the Agricultural Solung festival celebration at Ruksin has provided the opportunity to experience the rich tradition and culture of the Adi community. He urged to share their unique culture through promotion of cultural tourism in Arunachal Pradesh. The Union MoS said this, while addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest of the three-day Central Solung Celebration at Ruksin General Ground.
The Union Minister urged the future generation to carry forward the rich past heritage and tradition. He reaffirmed the vision of PM Narendra Modi to fast track development projects in Arunachal Pradesh and NE states adding that visible change is taking place today in areas of power, education, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, road-air connectivity etc.
The Centre has further made three fold increases in the budget for the North East, so that Arunachal Pradesh and other NE States catch up with the development in other parts of India at par. We must together make efforts to take our programs and central & state schemes to the needy and poor people and deliver services to the needy people of society by reaching out to the last man on the line, he said.
Lok Sabha (East) MP Tapir Gao as guest of honour also made a fervent appeal to protect and preserve our traditional attires, customs and traditions for posterity. He also made an appeal to the community to collectively fight the menace of drug abuse to protect the future generation.
ZPM Ruksin Aruni Jamoh extended the vote of thanks while President (Mopin-Solung Central Celebration Committee (MSCCR) Omir Tatin highlighted on the mythology of the Solung celebration. Cultural performances by Rayang Ponungmimum, MSCCCR women Wing, KGBV Rayang., students of Sainik School Niglok , Tapu dance, community feast were other highlights of the celebration.
