KHONSA, Jul 29: Minister, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Transport, Inland & Cooperation, Ojing Tasing today inaugurated the District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC) funded under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) for financial year 2021-22.
The minister praised the administration and all departments under his charge. He expressed honour at inaugurating the first DPRC building in the state and assured that most issues would be resolved promptly. Minister Tasing urged the Heads of Departments and Panchayat leaders to work harder and be more proactive in implementing development projects to achieve a prosperous Arunachal, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a developed India. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the state government's 100-day action plan policy and assured efforts to modernize the transport system, including infrastructure, to ensure smooth operation of transport services in the district.
Also present was Khonsa MLA Chakat Aboh, Advisor to Minister, Transport, Inland Water, DoTCL, MLA Wanglam Sawin, Director Panchayati Raj, Tamune Miso, Tirap Deputy Commissioner Ira Singhal, among others.
The District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC) has been constructed for imparting capacity building training to PRIs and Panchayati Raj Institution officials. The building can be used by other departments for training purpose on rental basis. The revenue which is collected from training and other source can be used for maintenance of said building.
Similarly another building i.e, 3(three) units rent house for Panchayati Raj Department Tirap funded under 10% State Own Revenue (SoR) 30% Zilla Parishad Basic Grants financial year 2023-24 to generate revenue to state Panchayati Raj Department. 
Also another building called Block Public Health Unit has inaugurated by Tasing, funded under 15th Finance Commission Health Grants financial year 2021-22 at the community health centre, Deomali.
At Wakka under Longding district, the Minister inaugurated Panchayat Bhawan cum Community Service Centre.
In response to a public memorandum of Wakka circle, the minister said that he would initiate to sanction for bus service from Longding to Khanu considering the recent bus accident which occurred in between Wakka to Khasa. He also said that he would discuss with the Director of PR, RD for approach road and protection wall for the Panchayat Bhawan.
At circle headquarters Longchan, a panchayat bhawan was also inaugurated.
Responding to memorandum submitted by the people of Longchan circle regarding footpaths connecting Longkai and Kaimoi village and Longkai and Laho to cross Chitum river, Boundary Wall, etc, the minister said that he would look into the matter in consultation with concern authorities.
Earlier on July 28, the newly inducted cabinet minister was warmly received at Khonsa.
The reception was followed by a district-level coordination meeting held at the DC’s office conference hall. During the meeting, all five departments under the minister's purview presented their respective reports.
Nangram Pingkap, PD-cum-DPDO, provided an overview of the Panchayati Raj Institution and Rural Development in the district. He highlighted various challenges such as the acute shortage of staff and the lack of vehicles for the department. The minister Page 2..

took note of these issues and assured to address them. Additionally, he informed that apartments created under the SOR would be rented out shortly after inauguration.
The Station Superintendent presented a brief history of the state transport service in the district and emphasized the need for its upgradation. He highlighted that due to a shortage of vehicles, three routes—Khonsa to Lazu Circle HQ, Khonsa to Dadam Circle HQ, and Deomali to Soha Circle HQ—have been discontinued, causing significant hardship for the public. Despite these challenges, the department achieved 110% of its revenue target for the FY 2023-24.
The District Registrar of Cooperative Societies (DRCS) provided an overview of cooperative societies in the district and requested the appointment of a regular DRCS and urged for a JICS or SICS to be posted in the district. The District Coordinator of ArSLM presented the status of their work and targets in the TCL belt.
Tamune Miso, Director of Panchayati Raj, detailed new ministry guidelines and the need for compliance. He commended the Tirap Panchayat Department for creating a revenue-generating asset under the SOR.
In his address, MLA Wanlam Sawin, requested the minister to create at least two sanctioned blocks and to provide a Volvo bus for the district if possible. MLA Chakat Aboh, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the genuineness of the issues raised and expressing hope that the grievances would be addressed promptly.
