ITANAGAR, Jan 20: Secretary cum Commissioner (Tax and Excise) Marnya Ete emphasized on early formulation of meaningful state policy on alternative livelihood and rehabilitation for drugs abusers and opium cultivators in the State.
Ete said this during a meeting of core-committee and deliberation committee for formulation of state policy on alternative livelihood (AID) for drugs abusers and opium cultivators held at the conference hall of tourism department on January 19 organized by the Narcotic cell, Department of Tax & Excise.
In his keynote address, State Nodal Officer, Narcotic Cell (ALD & Control) Oli Koyu briefed on the status of drug addiction in the state and the actions to be taken for eradicating drugs menace.
Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Remo Kamki and Deputy Conservator of Forests (WL) Pekyom Ringu also attended the meeting and put forward valuable suggestions.
21 officials from all the link departments of the State were present in the meeting.
