Khandu inaugurates Arunachal Niwas, fourth facility in New Delhi
Assam-Arunachal border delineation exercise concludes in Lower Siang
Aalo, Jan 30: The Department of Urban Development & Housing, Aalo Division, has successfully operationalised the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at Rokken area, Kabu. This facility is now manually operational, processing dry waste collected from various households across the township.
At the MRF, dry waste collected from every household in the township area is meticulously segregated into different categories, viz metals, hard plastics, soft plastics, cardboards, glass & textiles etc. The saleable dry waste such as metals, plastics, and cardboard will be outsourced to authorised recycling agencies, while RDF will be supplied to cement factories for use as an alternative fuel in industrial processes. This initiative marks a significant step forward in Aalo's waste management system, contributing to cleaner surroundings and more efficient resource recovery.
Authorities have urged residents to comply with the Deputy Commissioner’s directive to ensure that only dry waste is handed over at the source, facilitating smooth processing and effective waste management.
This development is being seen as a major stride towards a more sustainable and organised waste management system in Aalo town.
