AALO, Mar 15: A mass plantation drive was organised along the National Highway in Pushi Bango Area (Bagra circle) under the initiative ‘Dolu em Kaken be Molaju’ (Let’s Make Villages Beautiful) on Saturday.
The drive was conducted by the Memo Ao Welfare Society (MAWS) in collaboration with the West Siang district administration and the department of forest, with an aim to promote a healthier and sustainable environment.
More than 1,000 tree saplings were planted during the initiative. Memo Ao Welfare Society donated the saplings along with protective fencing.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mabi Taipodia Jini attended the event as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included circle officer Bagra Jumi Ete, divisional forest officer Gopin Padu, range forest officer, gaon buras, panchayat leaders and members of self-help groups.
