RUKSIN, Nov 15: In a gruesome incident that unfolded on Wednesday in the West rice cultivation field near the Murkongselek-Pasighat railway work progress area in Ruksin, a man identified as Shibu Baishya(22) beheaded one Ajay Das (18). The accused later surrendered at the Ruksin police station, wielding the victim's severed head.
The motive behind the gruesome act remains unclear at the time of reporting, leaving the community in shock and raising concerns about the safety of the Assam-Arunachal border region.
Ruksin police promptly arrested Shibu Baishya around noon on the day of the incident. The accused entered the police station carrying the victim's head, showcasing the horrific nature of the crime.
A case has been registered at Ruksin Police Station under Section 25/2023 302 IPC (Indian Penal Code), marking the severity of the crime. The Ruksin Officer In-charge stated that after receiving necessary medical
treatment, the accused has been remanded to Pasighat jail pending further legal proceedings.
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the Assam-Arunachal border region, prompting concerns about the safety and security of residents in the area. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the motive behind this gruesome murder and to ensure justice is served, added an official.
