RUPA, Dec 15: Minister of Environment and Forest, Mama Natung today attended the 3rd Edition of Eagle Nest Bird Festival in Rupa, West Kameng District, as the chief guest. Accompanying him was Jitendra Kumar (PCCF), Milo Tassar, Special Guest Jadav Payeng, Padma Shri Awardee, also known as Forest Man, Tseten Chombay (National Executive Member, S.T, Morcha, BJP), Deputy Commissioner West Kameng, ADC Rupa, SP, former minister D.K Thongdok, and other dignitaries.
Natung, in his address, encouraged students and villagers to plant trees extensively. He expressed gratitude to the Sherdukpen and Bugun communities for embracing the theme of preserving nature on a large scale.
Jitendra Kumar, PCCF, extended heartfelt thanks to the organizing team and Minister Mama Natung for their dedicated efforts in nature protection, including initiatives like the Airgun Surrender Abhiyan.
A skit, performed by students from Govt. Middle School, Birpur, showcased effective ways to preserve the forest. (DIPRO)
