ITANAGAR, Jul 17: In his quest to understand the various issues of the Horticulture department, Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu on Wednesday held a review meeting at DK Convention Hall. After marathon discussion and reviewing of the matters, the Minister urged the officers to come up with innovative and out-of-box ideas in their planning and execution of various programmes.
“Let us unitedly give the best to our people, and I assure to give you my best to see to it that all your concerns are addressed in right earnest,” the minister assured, and added that he is aware of various constraints and challenges the officers are confronting in the districts.
He appealed to the officers to develop work culture, and make horticulture a working and result-oriented department in the state, while also underscoring the urgent need to secure all government land in public interest.
“Highlight all your performances and success stories through public platforms and let those be replicated throughout,” Wangsu said adding that the department must work like a corporate house and all tasks must be accomplished in time bound manner.
Earlier Advisor Talem Taboh, MLA and Koj Rinya, IFS, Secretary, for Horticulture also addressed the 6-hour long session.
During the review meeting all the District Horticulture Officers of the state and other senior officers highlighted their performances and various activities. Progress of various centrally sponsored schemes and state plan schemes were thoroughly reviewed and challenges identified for further improvement and facilitate perfect grounding of all schemes down at the grassroots.
