PASIGHAT, Nov 13: Gracing the 55th Annual College Day Celebrations – The Hilltop Radiance 2023- of the state’s first higher learning institution, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Alo Libang exhorted the students to carry forward the legacy of the pioneer institution in pursuing excellence in academia and all round personality growth. Libang, who is also an alumnus of JNC, exuded that various cultural, literary, games and sports activities help open new vistas for the all-round growth and creativity and future avenues for them.
Local MLA, Kaling Moyong, in his address to the students, said that JNC has produced eminent personalities and the institution is continuing to impart quality education to students of the state. As the local MLA, he also assured to extend support and take up for continued support from the State Government to the pioneer institution. Moyong also spoke on the Smart City Pasighat becoming a fast growing education hub of the state. He expressed hope that the celebrations will foster sportsmanship, unity, team spirit and discipline.
Earlier, Principal JNC, Dr. Tasi Taloh, highlighted the growth of the JNC established in 1964 during the NEFA days and has presently more than 5000 (five thousand students) pursuing various academic courses in Arts, Science and Commerce and 75 (seventy five) faculty members.
