Roing, Nov 28: A one-day Legal Awareness Programme on "Fundamental Human Rights, Child Abuse and Child Labour and Gender Equality" was conducted today at Dambuk by an NGO, Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Welfare Society in collaboration with the Lower Dibang Valley administration, and sponsored by the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW).
Chairperson (APSCW) Kenjum Pakam, addressing the gathering stressed stressed on the people to know the rights and provisions for the protection of women and children, the knowledge of which will truly empower womenfolk.
Member Secretary (APSCW) Sangeeta Yirang highlighted the roles and responsibilities and the functions of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women in uplifting the status of women.
Anisha Apum Chairperson (AW&CWS) and Yarman Pertin (AW&CWS) also spoke on the occasion.
Resource Persons Advocate Madan Milli spoke on Fundamental Human Rights, Protection Officer (DCPU) Ngapi Meto on Child Abuse & Child Labour and Advocate Buliya Pulu on Gender Equality.
A skit on violence against women was presented by students of KGBV, Dambuk.
