ITANAGAR, Mar 10: Large number of protestors holding placards and raising slogans against the government under the banner of “Mere Vichar Andolan Committee” today held a peaceful rally from Akashdeep to Tennis Court, I.G Park seeking justice for former Chief Minister, late Kalikho Pul.

They were demanding re-investigation by the CBI into the 60 paged notes “Mere Vichar” allegedly written by late Pul basing upon the FIR lodged by his wives, immediate resignation of Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, Deputy CM, Chowna Mein and MLA PD Sona in order to pave a way for fair inquiry into corruption charges made against them.

Further, they are also asking, Sona to return the Rs.4 Crores to the Pul family as alleged in the note.

Leading the rally, son of the late leader,  Ojingso Pul  demanded a CBI inquiry into his father’s death and handing over the case to an independent investigation agency without any interference both by central and state government.

He claimed that the state government had not initiated a proper inquiry into the suicide case, despite it being a matter of utmost importance.

“Need of the hour is to bring to justice whosoever is responsible for the death of my father however high or mighty,’ further added a dejected Ojingso who along with his mother has been running from pillar to post to seek justice for his father.

Addressing the gathering, AYO President, Giogi Talar strongly condemned the state government for not taking the high profile suicide case of late Kalikho Pul in a serious manner.

Expressing his surprise for not giving importance to the FIR lodged by the wives and going with the FIR filed by his PSO for investigation, Talar alleged that the government is showing laxity towards the case as the corruption charges were made against few top politicians of the state.

He appealed to the state government for reopening of the case based on the FIR lodged by the wives of Pul and the case anded over to any independent investigating agency, so that a fair probe may be carried out.

“The concern Investigating Officer of the said case has gone missing after the submission of the final report which adds more weight for suspicion of foul play involving Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister himself,” added Talar citing that after thoroughly going through the alleged “Mere Vichar” notes the involvement of the trio cannot be ruled out in abetting the suicide of Kalikho Pul.

On the call given by the Mere Vichar Andolan Committee, the rally was also joined by the representatives of various youth and students organizations with participation of people from all walks of lives to show solidarity with late Pul and his family.
