PASIGHAT, July 28: Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, Kento Jini along with Secretary General, Arunachal Olympic Association, Bamang Tago today chaired a consultative meeting organised by the East Siang Olympic Association at Siang Guest House here today.
The Minister said that the State Government has formulated the New Sports Policy with the focus on tapping the potential of the youth. Also we must focus on youth power as the Arunachal Pradesh Government has declared 2024-25 as the Year of the Youth, seeing the immense potential and contribution of the youth in the state’s development, he said. Jini urged the Sports body to work for promotion of world-class young sporting talents capable of shining in national and international level in Olympics, to bring laurels to the state and the country.
Tago urged the Sports disciplines and bodies to get affiliated to the District Olympic Association for streamlining and smooth conduct of sports at district, state, national and international level.
The meeting was attended by President, East Siang Olympic Association, Tamat Gamoh, District Sports Officer, Y. Sitek, representatives of all disciplines of Games and Sports among others.
