Itanagar, Aug 16: The Indian Medical Association-Arunachal Pradesh and the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar have announced to suspend its services for 24hours beginning Saturday. The decision comes following the call by the Indian Medical Association for a nationwide shutdown of hospital services for 24 hours, starting 6 am on Saturday. The withdrawal of doctors' services comes amid public fury over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at a Kolkata hospital.
The association has made a list of demands, ranging from hospitals being designated as safe zones to a policy to address violence against doctors and hospitals.
