ITANAGAR, July 25: Chief Minister Pema Khandu informed that the state is one of the best performer states in the country in terms of capital investment. He said that the government is hopeful of achieving the target of ‘Viksit Arunachal’ by next 10 to 15 years. The government has adopted bottom up approach in the planning process, thereby empowering the districts. Since youths are the future therefore the government has declared the year as the ‘Year of Youth’. He urged the youths to take advantage of Deen Dayal Swalamban Yojana and UNNATI 2024.
To meet up the shortage of teachers in the schools, the government had come up with a scheme namely, Mukhya Mantri Shiksha Kosh, as a temporary measure since the APPSC was not in place. Through it nearly 773 teachers have already been posted at schools and 200 more are to be added. While 600 posts are already with the APPSC.
The CM informed that the government would entirely sponsor any APST student who bags a seat in the IIT (Indian Institute of Technology). He further informed that even at international level, if any APST student gets admission in any university that is within the 150 QS World University ranking, the state would sponsor 75% of the total expenses and if the student was unable to bear the remaining 25%, the government would gladly sponsor the remaining 25% as well.
The state aims at rolling out the National Education Policy 2020 in the state soon, saying that the focus will mainly be on primary schools. 900 Primary schools have already been started.
The CM assured renovation of dilapidated structure in phase wise manner as the government would focus on infrastructure development in the coming 5 years.
This year, under PMGSY 645.52 kms road has been sanctioned within an investment cost of 665 crores. Also under the Vibrant Village programme 105km road have been sanctioned covering around 1022km of road, the tendering process of which is under process. Within the interstate highway project, 2878km of new highway will be constructed and the tendering process has been initiated for the same, the CM added.
Since, the government exchequer spends a lot in paying a huge amount of government fund to the service holders (regular, contractual, contingency workers) pensioners and for developmental activities, income generation is the need of the hour for the government.
In conclusion, he announced that to ensure quality work for larger infrastructure on ground, the government plans on strengthening monitoring process by engaging a third party which would be an independent agency.
