Itanagar, Aug 24: The Galo Youth Organisation (GYO) mourned the demise of Sige Boje, Head Gaon Bura and Priest (Nyibu) of Pare village. The deceased was the father of GYO general secretary Geken Boje.
Late Boje was a very learned person with profound knowledge of our traditional and customary laws. His death will leave a huge void which will be hard to fill up. His contribution will be fondly remembered by the people of Pare village, said GYO President Bomkar Gara in a statement.
I on behalf Galo Youth Organization (GYO) convey our heartfelt condolence to the members of his family on this bereavement. My deepest thoughts are with his family as they pass through the hardest time in their life. I pray to the almighty God give them strength to bear this great loss with courage and fortitude, Gara said.
In a condolence message, Jarpum Gamlin said “Sige Boje's demise is not only a huge personal loss for me but with his passing away, we have lost a treasure trove of shamanic knowledge- customs & rituals - of Galo society.” He further prayed almighty God to give courage and strength to the bereaving family members.
