Changlang, Dec 9: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme at Changlang on Friday. He appealed to the people to avail maximum benefits from the State and Central Governments schemes and programmes. He also administered the Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge to the people on the occasion, which included elected representatives, Panchayat members, Gaon Burahs and government officials to make India developed and self-reliant nation by 2047, remove any trace of colonial mindset, celebrate our heritage, strengthen unity, respect those who protect the country and perform the duties of a citizen.
The Governor reiterated that in the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas', Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra with special focus on tribal communities. He advised the people of Changlang District to ensure that the villagers of the district staying in remote areas, avail benefits from the Central Government programmes and schemes. He stressed that they must reach out to those eligible beneficiaries, who are yet to avail benefits to get them registered.
In his maiden visit to Changlang District, the Governor reviewed developmental progress of Central and State Government programmes being implemented in the district. He emphasized upon the district heads of the department to go out of their offices, reach out to the people, particularly the beneficiaries and personally monitor the progress of projects on the ground.
Parnaik advised the officials to automate their offices and data. He said that it is just a three-month long exercise but will enormously help them in analyzing ground reality over the week, month and year; enable better focus,  planning and outreach of the programmes and in achieving the target.  
The Governor expressed his concerns about school dropout rate, drug addiction and execution of women and girl child related welfare schemes. He said that, when the Prime Minister is so concerned about welfare issues, officials and government machinery must put in concerted effort to implement the socio-economic programmes on ground.
The Governor was delighted to see the efforts being made by the Self Help Groups, NGOs to rehabilitate persons addicted to drugs. One such person narrated his efforts to be reformed. Such reformed youth need to be made ‘Anti Drug Ambassador’ at the State level and should help others to reform, he opined.  
Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte, MLA Phosum Khimhun, Director General of Police Anand Mohan, Deputy Commissioner in-charge S. Mining and Superintendent of Police Kirli Padu were present amongst others.
