ITANAGAR, Nov 24: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General (Retd) K.T. Parnaik, has greeted the people of the State on the festive occasion of ‘Chalo Loku’ festival. He expressed hope that the agricultural festival of the Nocte tribe of Tirap district will send a message of peace and brotherhood amongst the fellow citizens of the State.
In his message, the Governor said that festivals indeed play a crucial role in preserving cultural heritage and fostering a sense of unity among communities. Chalo Loku serves as a platform to strengthen the bonds among community members and promote understanding and goodwill among the people of the state. The beating of 'Tham' and the time-honored rituals of Chalo Loku sound like essential elements that contribute to the cultural identity of the Nocte tribe. These rituals have the power to bring the community together, creating a sense of shared history and values, he said.
On this auspicious occasion, I join my Nocte brethren in offering prayer to Almighty Rang for socio-cultural and socio-economic well being of all, the Governor said in his message.
