PASIGHAT, Nov 1: The inaugural ceremony of 6th Batch Foundation Training Course (FTC) for Horticulture Field Staffers (HFS) began today at the Pasighat Mushroom Development Centre where field staffers from various districts of the state will be undergoing a six-month long training program.
During the inaugural ceremony, the DHO AR Ering extended a warm welcome to the guest and trainees and spoke about the aims and objectives of the training program.
Dr. BN Hazarika, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry who graced the occasion as Chief Guest encouraged the trainee staffers to keep up their learning curve high for self betterment and progress of community, society and nation as a whole. He also exhorted the field staffers to work with dedication and sincerity towards their profession.
Dr. A.K Tripathi, Dean CAU-College of Agriculture who was invited as Guest of Honor spoke about challenges, opportunities and scope of horticulture sector in the context of developing the predominantly hill economy of Arunachal Pradesh.
The special guest during the occasion, Dr. SM Hussain, Head KVK East Siang eloquently stressed on the importance of imparting periodic and regular training to field staff, so that new insights in horticulture subjects could be gathered and adoption of new technologies for better remuneration from horticulture related activity could be made possible.
SDHO Oyin Tayeng briefed about the pivotal role of field level extension workers, current scenario of horticulture sector in the state and its vast future potentialities. HDO Dr. Aido Taloh also spoke on the occasion. DIPRO
