Aalo, Aug 7: The first basin wise consultative meeting for formulation of Innovative State Youth Policy 2024 (Siang Chapter) was chaired by the West Siang Deputy Commissioner, Hage Mamu, here today.
The meeting was organized by the Department of Youth Affairs in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University. Dr. K.P Singh, Associate Professor (RGU) presented the State Youth Policy as the state government has declared the 2024 as the 'Year of the Youth’.
During the consultative meeting, Director Youth Affairs, Ramesh Lingi highlighted the State Youth Policy to the participants.
Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner, Rujjum Raksap urged that youths of the state must be engaged in various sectors and foundation of good education for every student including calendar events should be organised in every school and village.
Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Hage Mamu said that skill development for youths must be taken up. She also impressed the youths to take advantage of Information Technology for positive impact in their life. Career counselling and vocational training is important for the youths of present day, she added.
Representatives from various CBOs, NGOs, student organizations, administrative officers from various districts shared their innovative youth policies, ideas and valuable suggestions. The same meeting will be conducted all over the state namely the Kameng, Subansiri, Lohit basin respectively.
The consultative meeting was attended by Shi Yomi, West Siang, Siang, Leparada, East Siang, Upper Siang and Lower Siang districts. DIPRO AALO
