ITANAGAR, Nov 3: In a fire incident, nine classrooms of the Govt Secondary School Pachin Colony Naharlagun were burnt on Friday. The fire apparently started from a ‘kutcha’ house adjacent to the school and spread further burning down another house. All the 9 classrooms have been completely damaged with furniture, electrical appliances, ceiling, floors, white board etc completely burnt. Fire tenders managed to control the fire from further spreading.
Minister Education Taba Tedir, MLA Techi Kaso, DC Talo Potom, ADC Shweta Nagarkoti, DDSE ST Zara and his team of officers, Corporator Gyamar Tuvin, SMC members and others visited the spot and took stock of the situation. The Minister assured help from his end for the school to run smoothly and to ensure that classes could be convened regularly and there is no inconvenience to the students.
Later, the DC and the ADC had a detailed meeting with the school staff in presence of the MLA to work out modalities and to make arrangements to ensure the conduct of regular classes without any interruption.
