Itanagar, Aug 29: The FIFA Women's Football Campaign on the occasion of National Sports Day was organised by Arunachal Pradesh Football Association in collaboration with VKV, Balijan today at VKV school ground.
Around 150 students of the school took part in a one day celebration. Small sided games along with fun games were organised for then participating players.
FIFA Women's Football Campaign is an initiative by FIFA to encourage football among young girls and promote women's football across the world.
Supported by All India Football Federation, APFA was one of the selected states to organise this campaign.
Event was attended by Kipa Ajay, Treasurer,AIFF and Shyamal Chakraborty , Principal, VKV, Balijan along with Executive Committee Members of the Association and other dignitaries.
State Ambassador for the Campaign, Techi Amin, the first female footballer from the state to represent National Football Team in International Level encouraged young girls to take up sports in life by keeping up with their studies and remain disciplined to their career goals.
Ajay in his address thanked Principal VKV, Balijan and entire staff on behalf of APFA for supporting the cause and for encouraging the young girls to get into football activities.
