PASIGHAT, Aug 31: In the wake of the rape and murder of a Lady Doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital Kolkata, a consultative meeting on security audit of Health Facility was held Friday evening under the chairmanship of the DC Tayi Taggu. The meeting was attended by SP Dr SK Singhal, ASP Pankaj Lamba, DySP Ayup Boko, JDHS (BPGH) Dr. T Tali, DMO Dr. K. Perme, all Officer in charge of Police Stations, Fire Brigade i/c. WT I/C, all MO I/c of CHC/PHC, Medical Superintendent of private hospitals of East Siang District.
DC Tayi Taggu in his opening remarks while upholding femininity and gender equality condemned the heinous crime. He instructed DMO/ADC/all MO i/c to carry out relevant IEC activities with regards to violence against Health Workers in their respective area.
SP Dr Sachin Sighal came out with suggestions like establishment of Police outpost at BPGH Pasighat, strategic deployment of watchman in Private Hospitals, character and antecedent verifications for person employed in the hospitals etc.
DMO Dr.Komling Perme earlier while welcoming all the participants explained the objectives of the meeting and gave an overview of Arunachal Pradesh Medical Service Personnel and Medical Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss of Property) Act 2019 and The Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013.
Security Audit of Health Facility will be carried out on Sunday at various locations in the district.
