Guwahati, Apr 22: Tana Tage, Director, CES&HS (Centre for Earth Sciences & Himalayan Studies), Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, appreciated  the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati for its commendable contribution to meteorological and climatological services particularly in the Northeast while observing that Arunachal Pradesh has immensely benefited  from the collaboration between CES&HS and RMC.  He was speaking at the Earth Day celebration at the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati on Tuesday where he attended as the chief guest.
Tage further said that Automatic Weather Station network has been densified in Arunachal Pradesh and is also advancing towards installation of Doppler Weather Radars to strengthen weather forecasting and disaster preparedness. A Doppler Weather Radar is coming up in Namsai soon. Tage in his message said “Let Earth Day be our compass, guiding us towards a future that is green, clean and sustainable. Let us pledge to be better stewards of our planet and leave a legacy of hope and harmony for generations to come.”
K.N. Mohan, Scientist-G and Head, Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati greeted the guests and explained to the students about the use of renewable energy. Dr. Sanjay O’Neill Shaw, Scientist-F urged to unite for a greener future and act today to fuel a cleaner, stronger, and more sustainable world.
Saplings were planted on the occasion; officials and students made a human chain with a message to unite to save the earth.
