NAMSAI, Oct 19: Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein reviewed the preparation of 'Seva Maah' which is scheduled to be launched on October 31 next under the theme ‘Journey towards saturation’ in Namsai District.
The Dy CM reviewed the preparation for holding Seva Apke Dwar camps in all the three blocks. During the meeting, various aspects related to holding the Seva Maah were discussed. He urged the departments to work in coordination for successful conduct of the event. He also emphasised that beneficiaries of various Central and State sponsored schemes should be given the opportunity to share their testimonials during the event. Emphasising the importance of effective teaching of local languages in schools, he directed the DDSE to monitor the teaching learning process of Tai language and also urged to introduce sports activities as a part of school curriculum.
MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, said that agri tourism should be promoted and FPOs and tea production in the district should be brought under the loop of tourism for which publicity is the need of the hour. He further emphasised that sports sector should be given importance to promote an alternative livelihood for the younger generations.
“Sports enthusiasts should be identified and encouraged and sports activities should be a routine affair from school level," he said.
ZPC Namsai, DC Namsai were also present in the review meeting held with the district officials.
