PASIGHAT, Feb 8: In its mission to combat drug menace for a drug free East Siang, the Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) of East Siang Police has arrested two drug peddlers and seized 2.317 Kg narcotics substance.
East Siang Police had received credible information regarding a habitual drug user, residing in the 2-Mile area, who regularly procures Ganja and heroin from Silapathar on Friday after which operation was conducted which eventually led to the apprehension of the drug peddlers subsequently.
Acting on this intelligence, the Anti-Drug Squad(ADS) swung into action and a team was formed under the overall guidance of SP Pankaj Lamba.
The accused, Dhananjey Saha, a driver was apprehended from his residence. Upon interrogation, he disclosed that he procured Ganja from a woman in Silapathar and agreed to lead the police to her. 
Subsequently, controlled delivery operation was conducted, leading to the apprehension of one Junmoni Das near Rail Gate, Silapathar, with assistance from Dhemaji Police. A search of her residence led to the seizure of 2.317 kg of suspected Ganja, a digital weighing machine, and a smartphone.
A case has been registered at Pasighat PS under NDPS Act.
