Assam-Arunachal border delineation exercise concludes in Lower Siang
NAMSAI, Aug 27: The Divisional Commissioner (East), Vivek Pandey chaired a comprehensive review meeting of all the ongoing schemes under UNTIED Fund and other key issues of the district today.
In attendance were i/c DC, Namsai K. Tikhak, Hano Taka, Director ULB, DPO and Heads of Departments.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized the importance of focusing on the outcomes of all ongoing projects. He advised the departments to ensure that whenever a proposal is placed, it should encompass an integrated approach. For example, a project for constructing quarters should also include provisions for boundary walls, approach roads, electrification, and other essential necessities to ensure the project's comprehensive development. He then instructed the incharge-DC to compile a detailed list of all district infrastructure and inventories department wise. This list should be reviewed to assess the functionality of each item, with specific inquiries into why the projects that are non-functional now were undertaken at the first place and what measures can be taken to address theses issues.
A special focus was placed on the education sector where the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the enrollment rates from secondary to higher secondary levels. He directed the DDSE to thoroughly analyze the dropout rates and compile a comprehensive data on students who were enrolled in government schools at the secondary level but did not transition to higher secondary classes. This data will help identify whether these students have shifted to other schools or are actual dropouts. Furthermore, he urged the incharge-DC to review the performance of schools with poor results and to counsel the functionaries of these schools to improve educational outcomes.
Other schemes from departments such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Industries, Medical, Urban & Housing, APEDA, and Rural Development were also reviewed during the meeting.
The meeting concluded with the Divisional Commissioner reiterating the need for accountability and a result-oriented approach across all departments to ensure the success of these developmental schemes.
