AALO, Jul 1: The District Task Force for the Rescue of Child Labour conducted an operation from June 25 to 28 last, during which a total of 18 children and adolescents were found to be involved in hazardous employment. Out of these, four children were handed over to their families. All 18 cases have been registered.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the DCPU Aalo unit, led by the Legal cum Probation Officer with full cooperation from the West Siang Police.
Legal cum Probation Officer Mijum Doke has appealed to the citizens to enroll their children below 14-years of age in school. He also advised the employers of children aged 14 to 18 years to provide all basic necessities to its employees as per the guidelines of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act. He warned employers that the violation of Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation ) Act and constitutional law is be punishable under the Act.
