PASIGHAT, Jul 10: District Level Committee (DLC) meeting-cum workshop under the Chairmanship of the ADC (HQ) Tatling Pertin, was convened at the DC’s Conference Hall, Pasighat today for selection of One District One Product (ODOP) for East Siang District.
The meeting was attended by all the key stakeholder departments like Textile & Handicraft, Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, ARSRLM and renowned entrepreneur from the district Mohanto Pangging.
Addressing on the occasion, ADC Tatling Pertin, stated that ODOP was a good initiative of the government and selecting the appropriate product as ODOP would definitely boost the economy of the district. He suggested the stakeholder departments to provide authentic data to select the appropriate product as per parameters suggested by PMU.
DDI Pasighat Matsam Jamoh delivered the welcome address and briefed about the objective of the DLC meeting.  Potential products were discussed and Revant Bhattacharjee, consultant PMU (ODOP), E&Y LLP and empanelled consultant of the Department of Industries, highlighted the attendees on the mentioned scheme features. Textiles, Rice, Arecanut, Ginger, Turmeric, Jaggery etc have been identified to be the potential products from the district.
