ITANAGAR, June 22: The Arunachal Electronic and Media Association (AEDMA) marked a significant day as nine more digital media houses joined the association during a simple yet in impressive induction event held today at APC, reinforcing the unity within the media fraternity. With these new affiliations, AEDMA now proudly counts 25 (Media Houses)  as members in the state.
Vice President AEDMA Jack Tayeng extended his best wishes to the newly inducted media houses  and briefed the gathering on the association's history. He highlighted the vision of AEDMA's Founder President and Senior Journalist, late Taro Chatung, who established the association in 2012 to support the welfare of electronic and digital media. At that time, electronic and digital media were in their infancy, but Chatung’s vision was to unite media professionals to promote quality journalism and the development of the media industry in the state.
In his address, Vice President Tayeng appealed to all digital and electronic media organizations to maintain high standards in their work and to operate impartially for the development of both the media industry and the state.
General Secretary AEDMA Sangge Droma welcomed the new members and outlined various initiatives AEDMA has undertaken for the welfare of its members. She emphasized that a stringent set of criteria has been established for AEDMA membership. Only media houses with proper documentation, offices, and adherence to other required norms are qualified to join. Droma also stressed the crucial role of media houses in society and the importance of guiding on-ground journalists in maintaining ethical standards while reporting.
Although President AEDMA Toko Tagam was unable to attend the event due to unavoidable circumstances, he conveyed his best wishes to the new members.
