Naharlagun, May 21: The officers and staff of Directorate of Health Services gave a warm farewell to Dr. Riken Rina, DHS on his superannuation today.
Dr. Rina joined government service as Junior Medical Officer at District hospital Ziro on 30th October, 1987. After a long period of service, he was promoted as additional DHS in December 2024.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. T.Narah, Jt.DHS (Estt.) appreciated the beautiful work environment created by Rina. “He was always available and approachable and was always cool headed. He would never scold,” she said.
“It was a pleasure working with him,” expressed Dr. P.Ringu, DDHS (E-II). Dr. Tana Takum, Consultant (P&D) section recalled the herculean effort of Rina to create a site for entering and updating all the data related to Health Infrastructure of the state.
Rina in his farewell speech thanked all for their love & support and revealed his post retirement plan. “I will continue sensitising the public about the Jan Aushadhi scheme of the government. It is a wonderful scheme where quality medicines are available to all at prices five to ten times cheaper than the medicines in the general market,” he said. He also plans to open a clinic to give free consultation & treatment services to the poor and needy.
Dr. Marbom Basar, the new DHS cum chairman of the function appreciated Rina’s contributions and vowed to carry forward his legacy.
