PASIGHAT , Jun 20: East Siang DC Tayi Taggu during his visit to the Elam Garment & Apparel Industry and its Handloom Unit at Industrial Estate ,Gumin Nagar here today advocated for ‘Make in Arunachal Products’ to promote local entrepreneurship, employment generation for skilled artisans and youth of the state and in boosting the local economy adding that ‘our products can compete with the best in the market.’ The DC also visited new start up units in Pasighat, the Siang Industries producing biodegradable carry bags at Industrial Estate , ‘Asi’ packaged water plant at Tulap area.
The DC through the visit today got a first-hand experience of the manufacturing, processing and marketing aspect and other issues in the functioning of the industries.
The DC was briefed that the Elam Industries set up in 2016 is the first and largest textiles factory of Arunachal Pradesh employing more than 100 people at various skill levels, producing ethnic, readymade garments, school uniforms keeping in mind both quality and affordability of the consumers.
During his interactions with the entrepreneurs, Mohonto Panging, Katon Moyong and Maglek Taki, the DC lauded their enterprising spirit adding that the state government and the DA in its capacity is doing its best to promote the spirit of “vocal for local” in letter and in spirit. The issue of uninterrupted power supply was also apprised to the DC.
The DC was accompanied by EACs, Olak Apang, Mum Messar, Deputy Director Industry M. Jamoh, ADTH Libang Perme, officials of ADTH & Industry among others.
