Khonsa, July 6: A significant Career Counselling session was held at the Khonsa PWD - Circuit House Community Hall on Friday. The initiative, led by Deputy Commissioner Tirap, Ira Singhal, aimed to enhance the academic performance and future career prospects of students in the region. The event saw active participation from principals, headmasters, and students from various schools across the Tirap district.
Deputy Commissioner Ira Singhal, who achieved the prestigious All India Rank 1 in the UPSC 2014, was the keynote speaker. The session focused on guiding students of classes VIII and XII about the importance of career planning and the opportunities available across different sectors.
The event was graced by notable attendees including CO Borduria, Yowa Anya, IPR representative Gawang Sumpa, UDC, three principals, twelve headmasters, and an impressive gathering of 2,116 students from various government schools.
Ms. Singhal engaged with the students, addressing their questions about different subjects and career opportunities. The students, keen to learn about preparing for the UPSC exams and becoming an IAS officer, found the session highly informative and motivating.
The interactive session allowed students to express their curiosity and get their doubts clarified by Ms. Singhal. Her expertise and insights provided invaluable perspectives, making the session enlightening for all attendees.
The program commenced with a welcome speech and a briefing by Smti Yowa Anya, CO Borduria. Following the counselling session, DDSE Tirap, Smti K.C. Lowangcha, commended Deputy Commissioner Ira Singhal for her dedication to the students' welfare despite her busy schedule. She urged the students to retain and apply the knowledge gained from the session in their academic and career pursuits.
