PASIGHAT, Jun 26: The review meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee of District Tobacco Control Cell under National Tobacco Control Programme and District level Zoonotic Committee of National Rabies Control Programme was held today at Conference Hall of DC Office Pasighat.
DC East Siang Tayi Taggu opined that robust IEC activities will be the backbone for the success of the programmes. He advised the DMO to make an action plan for resource mobilization so that IEC activities are carried out at grassroots level for both COTP Act 2003 and Rabies. He also advised the DVO to issue notice to all dog owners to vaccinate their pet dogs and also to make a rough survey of stray dogs. Taggu also asked for the strict implementation of the COTPA 2003 in public spaces and for tobacco free educational spaces.
Earlier Dr. Komling Perme DMO while welcoming the stakeholders briefed the members the objectives of the meeting. Dr.Kato Lego i/c DSO gave a detail presentation on the subject. All members from stakeholder departments and NGOs also presented their valuable inputs.
