Bomdila, Sep 18: West Kameng Deputy Commissioner, Akriti Sagar convened a coordination meeting with key stakeholders, including the ADC Bomdila, ADC Dirang, CO Thembang, DRO, DUDA, and members of the Local Consultative Committee (LCC), to discuss matters related to the Thembang Fortified Village, which is currently on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
During the meeting, Sagar reviewed the progress made so far and outlined future plans necessary for the inclusion of Thembang Fortified Village in the permanent list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
LCC members raised concerns regarding the preparation of the master plan by consultants, emphasizing the need for it to be developed with a comprehensive understanding of the area’s culture and heritage to ensure authenticity and preservation.
Various other stakeholders also shared their views and suggestions during the meeting, providing valuable insights into the development and preservation efforts. (DIPRO)
