TAWANG, Oct 9: A preliminary meeting to discuss the preparations for Tawang Festival 2023 proposed to be held in the first week of November was held here today.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Kanki Darang expressed his appreciation for successful conduct of the recently held 1st edition of Tawang Marathon and the 36th National Tug-of-War Championship held at Tawang. He articulated for the same enthusiasm and coordination from all the government officials, NGO/CBOs, and the public for successful conduct of Tawang Festival.
Darang advocated for judicious use of the funds allocated based on previous year’s familiarity and suggested for engagement of HoDs/ Admin Officers/Officers in the various sub-committees for better management and accountability.
He further read out the roles and responsibilities of the various sub- committees that were formed in the previous edition of Tawang Festival and called for active support and coordination from all the members.
Earlier, DTO Tawang Tsering Dekey gave a detailed statement of the previous year’s accounts of Tawang Festival and called for conducting of the festival so as to boost the tourism potential of the district.
