Aalo, July 28: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Ms Mamu Hage led the cleanliness drive held here at Aalo township early Sunday morning. The cleanliness drive was organized under the banner of “Clean Aalo Campaign Shramdaan" under SBM 2.0, and was jointly organized by the District Administration and Urban Development Department. During her brief speech, the DC urged the public of Aalo township to keep it a plastic-free zone. She appealed to all the residents to keep the degradable and non-degradable waste in separate containers. She also requested the people not to burn plastic products as it pollutes the environment and human health. The cleanliness drive was participated by HoDs, SHGs, NGOs and Market Committee.
