ITANAGAR, Sep 28: The Arunachal Pradesh Tribal Contractors Welfare Association (APTCWA) has called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu to intervene in relocating the Regional Office of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) from Tezpur to Itanagar.
Addressing the media at the press club on Saturday, APTCWA President Khyoda Daniel highlighted that the association has submitted a four-point memorandum to the Chief Minister. The key demands include the relocation of the MoRTH Regional Office to Itanagar, which would improve accessibility and coordination for contractors and officials in the state.
The association also pressed for the compulsory GST registration of companies from other states operating in Arunachal Pradesh to prevent revenue leakage. They further demanded mandatory agreements and undertakings between contractors, the Regional Officer, and the Chief Engineer in Itanagar to ensure transparency and accountability in project execution.
Additionally, the memorandum sought proper justification for bidding on state tenders below 12% under MoRTH and NHIDCL, aiming to bring fairness and clarity to the bidding process. APTCWA expressed hope that these measures would enhance the efficiency and fairness of infrastructure projects in Arunachal Pradesh.
