ITANAGAR, Nov 14: Former Chief Minister and current President of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Nabam Tuki, claimed Congress as the architectural force behind the development of the state, emphasizing the significance of Jawaharlal Nehru's Panchsheel Policy for tribal states like Arunachal.
Addressing the media at the state Congress office, Tuki asserted that the people of Arunachal Pradesh are well aware of Congress's unwavering support for the state's comprehensive development. He pointed out that even the name "Arunachal Pradesh" was given by the Congress. From the foothills to the border areas, Tuki highlighted that the developmental initiatives were spearheaded by the Congress party.
"The common people are with Congress; they recognize the contributions of Congress to this state. So, Congress has a firm belief that it will return to power," Tuki confidently stated.
Earlier in the day, Joint Secretary-APCC and Incharge of the Indian Youth Congress, Krishna Allavaru, who is in the state capital on a maiden visit, expressed that the Youth Congress will extend full support to reinstate a Congress government in the upcoming elections.
Allavaru further stated that the initiation of the "Youth Jodo-Booth Jodo" programme is to address the problems faced by the youth of Arunachal in the run-up to the elections. He added that the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) would raise its voice against issues such as the paper leak and unemployment in the state.
